Q & A

Are the Successful Students NYC tutors qualified to work with my child?

Yes! Our tutors are all professional New York City educators.  Our entire tutoring staff is fully certified, qualified, and experienced.  We work closely with you and our tutors to ensure that your expectations and your child’s unique needs are met.

What if I have to cancel a session?

Successful Students NYC tutors are professionals who work hard to plan and prepare lessons and materials for your child’s tutoring session.  As this requires advanced preparation and time, please contact your tutor at least 24 hours prior to your session if you must cancel or change the appointment time.  Our staff will work with you to reschedule and ensure that your child stays on-track.  Please be aware that Successful Students NYC reserves the right to charge for the session if need for cancellation is not communicated 24 hours in advance.

There was an emergency and I had to cancel the session last minute. What should I do?

We understand that emergencies and the unexpected do happen.  If you must cancel your session last minute, first contact your tutor directly, then please email us: successfulstudentsNYC@gmail.com or call: 646-634-9420 to communicate your cancellation need.

What forms of payment are accepted?

We currently accept personal check and cash as payment.

Where will my child work with the tutor?

Typically, private tutoring sessions are completed in your home.  You and your tutor can also make arrangements to hold a session in another location such as a public library.

Will the tutor contact and work with my child’s teacher?

We feel that open communication between everyone is the best way to help your child succeed.  If you give your tutor permission to work with your child’s teachers, they will gladly open contact to discuss the best approach for child’s needs.
